About

Background

Hi, I am Heeth Jain, creator of Indexinate.

  • Whenever I am interested about a topic, I love to go in depth and learn about it. Often my go-to sites are Reddit & Github Awesome collection. I just type the topic I am interested in, and type the keyword after it.
  • But for some topics, there aren't many resources, and I have to go beyond these 2 resources to go in depth and extract valuable information.
  • Search Engines in general are bad at this, and neither does the current state of LLMs are good enough. Moreover, the LLMs give very high level generic answers, and the golden insights are hidden behind communities far away from the initial pages of the Search Engines.
  • That's when I decided to solve my own problem, by creating Indexinate.

The Problem

  • It is becoming increasing difficult to search for high quality content using Google Search
  • The major reason for this is that most results on the first page of Google are from sites which have a very good SEO, but that doesn't relate to the quality of their content.
  • The goal of these websites are simple, to gain traction and/or earn money.
  • More on this in the blog: Problem with Search Engines

Current Workaround

  • Reddit has become the go-to alternative for high quality content on the internet.
  • Generally, a lot of users add the keyword reddit in Google Search to get results from Reddit.
  • The content on Reddit are from people and their experiences with no incentive to share any information, so the content is almost always genuine!

Limitations

  • But Reddit isn't the only place out there.
  • There are tons of communities out there on the internet with very high quality of content and resources.
  • But a lot of these communities are specific to a domain/subject/niche, so hence is difficult to find on the internet

Solution: Indexinate

  • Indexinate is a curation of all publicly available communities/forums/resources.
  • The goal of Indexinate is to curate all these communities so that when a user wants to re-search about some topic in depth, they can use Google Search but filter the results from those particular community/forums.
  • With the rise of AI generated content, it will get increasing difficult to find good quality data, and that is where communities with real people connecting together will be the place where the golden content will be.

Vision

  • To have good quality information, content, and resources to learn available to everyone.
